Fat Daddy’s Furniture Outlet has been a part of the Kansas City metropolitan area for over a decade, opening its first store in Lawrence, KS, moving to Independence, MO, then Kansas City, MO, and finally Kansas City, KS. As Maverick Distributing, the owner distributed furniture to other local, family-owned stores in the area for nearly 2 decades, until the arrival of corporate big box stores forced most of those stores out of business. Taking misfortune for opportunity, Maverick leveraged its long-term relationships with furniture manufacturers, and Fat Daddy’s opened for business to offer fantastic, affordable furniture directly to the public.
